What I Do

What I love to do:

* Connecting users with information
* Designing interactive systems that provide for user needs
* Producing research-driven, meaningful solutions for complex problems
* Leveraging new tools and technologies to address evolving user requirements

As an empathetic advocate for users, I bring a keen awareness about human behavior to design.  I have what it takes to allow people to experience and express their feelings.

I have an enthusiasm that is contagious. I tend to be upbeat and can get others excited about what they are going to do.  Knowing what makes individuals unique provides me with clues about the best way to support or inspire each person.

Chances are good that I prefer to “go with the flow“. Mind-numbing routines, processes, paperwork, or production lines eventually bore me. On the other hand, I thrive in environments where I must deal with unexpected requests, unanticipated problems, or changing priorities. Being flexible by nature, I enjoy creating solutions as needs arise. Actually, I think better and accomplish more when my ability to respond to situations on a moment’s notice is acknowledged, used, and appreciated.

My openness makes it easy for people to figure out who I am.  I enjoy befriending newcomers. This might explain why I regularly step forward to introduce myself to new classmates, coworkers, or teammates.  I love the challenge of meeting new people and making a connection with another person.  I am completely energized by what I learn about each person I meet, whether it is one-on-one or as a presenter.
